First International Conference with UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten

The Islamic University of Gaza took part in the first international conference on Islamic law. It was held at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten in Indonesia. According to an MOU signed by both universities, this discussion aims to promote scientific research and foster academic interaction, particularly in Islamic economics.

As well as uniting scientific research endeavors, the event organizers intended to highlight the developments and challenges of Islamic economics. Also, this activity built up relations with partner universities, such as those in Palestine, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as the researchers and scientists could share thoughts and exchange experiences.

First International Conference with UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten

Dr. Sadeq Qandeel, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, was among the distinguished presenters at the conference, where he discussed contemporary issues in Islamic law, economics, and finance. He elaborated on two types of issues: contemporary issues in Sharia (Assessment Review) and contemporary issues in business and finance (Development Suggestions).

As he explained, not only do the issues need illustration and attitude, but they also require monitoring and review. These duties are part of the specialized Economic Authorities’ responsibilities that reflect the aspects of Sharia and develop civilization.

To address contemporary issues in business and finance, people in charge should consider three fundamentals: Sharia objectives, methodologies (patterns for juridical rules), and results (desired outcomes). Further, the financial outcomes must meet the individual and community benefits.

The Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University was pleased to participate in the event. He shed light on the conference’s importance as it supports knowledge exchange and enhances Islamic economics. Dr. Qandeel’s last statement emphasized that IUG promotes scientific research and helps improve terms and concepts relevant to the Islamic economic system.
