Disabled Voices from Gaza Project Team Initiates Training Program

The Disabled Voices from Gaza project holds training days. The program is entitled “Narrative Methodologies with Media and Information Literacy (MIL).” It empowers students with disabilities in Palestine. It was financed by the Research and Arts Council and initiated in collaboration with Action Against Armed Violence and the University of Birmingham.

Prof. Sufyan Tayeh, the President of the Islamic University of Gaza; Dr. Khalil Alastal, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs; and Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri, the Project Manager, visited the team members participating in the project.

Prof. Tayeh pointed out that the staff at the Islamic University supports people with disabilities and stressed that IUG buildings are accessible and inclusive. That reflects the holistic approach that the university adopts to help all segments of society.

He said, “What makes us stand out from other higher education institutions in Palestine is our exclusive services for people with disabilities.”

Their reports affirm the university’s unwavering support for individuals with disabilities. They also show sincere gratitude and appreciation for the endeavors of IUG in providing support to various groups in the Gaza Strip.
