Islamic University of Gaza has advanced ten positions in the QS World University Rankings: Arab Region 2026, rising to 83rd place among Arab universities, compared with 93rd in the 2025 edition.
Under the latest ranking, the University secured first place among universities in the Gaza Strip and third nationally among Palestinian institutions.
The QS Arab Region rankings assess universities across a range of indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, research output, and international research collaboration.
Professor Dr. Asaad Asaad, President of Islamic University of Gaza, commended the efforts of the University’s staff in achieving this progress despite the challenging circumstances facing the Gaza Strip. He emphasised the importance of international, regional and national rankings as benchmarks for enhancing the quality of higher education, advancing scientific research, and strengthening community engagement.
