Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding with Turkey’s University of Health Sciences (SBÜ), marking a strategic step towards expanding international cooperation in the health and academic sectors.
The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Asaad Asaad, President of IUG, and Professor Kamaleddin Aydın, President of SBÜ. The partnership underscores the strength of bilateral relations and opens new avenues for academic and research collaboration.
The memorandum aims to facilitate the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty members and administrative staff for academic, research and clinical purposes. It also provides a framework for developing joint projects led by academic and administrative units at both institutions.
Cooperation will focus on three principal areas: academic exchange and medical education, clinical and student training to enhance professional competencies, and joint research in health and medical sciences.
A joint cooperation committee will be established to oversee implementation of the agreement and ensure the smooth coordination of exchange activities in line with the shared interests of both universities.
The partnership is expected to have a tangible impact on the quality of medical education and scientific research at IUG by integrating international expertise and expanding advanced training opportunities for Palestinian healthcare professionals, reflecting both institutions’ commitment to strengthening the health and academic sectors in the region.
