In a new academic achievement, scholarly journals published by the Islamic University of Gaza have secured advanced positions in the 2025 annual report of the Arab Impact and Citation Factor (Arcif).
The tenth annual Arcif report assessed more than 956,000 research papers published in Arab academic and research journals, evaluating their impact and citation performance across the region.
In the field of Economics, Finance and Business — which includes 192 journals — the Journal of the Islamic University for Economic and Administrative Studies ranked second, achieving an Arcif impact factor of 2.47. The journal also placed seventh overall among 1,272 journals indexed in the Arcif database.
Meanwhile, the Journal of the Islamic University for Educational and Psychological Studies ranked second among 32 psychology journals and 27th overall, with an Arcif impact factor of 1.70.
The 2025 Arcif report also listed the top ten Arab universities and research institutions in terms of total citations and volume of scholarly output in their affiliated journals. The Islamic University of Gaza ranked seventh overall, recording 10,831 citations across 3,354 published articles. Notably, it placed second regionally in average citations per article, with a rate of 6.27 citations per paper.
