Professor Dr. Asaad Asaad, President of Islamic University of Gaza, congratulated the University community and the Palestinian people on the achievement, noting that it comes amid exceptionally difficult circumstances in Gaza. He said the ranking reflects the determination of the University’s leadership, academics and students to sustain academic, research and community engagement despite extensive destruction to campus facilities.
He added that the University’s continued performance has been supported by its established digital learning infrastructure, developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, enabling it to maintain its educational mission under challenging conditions.
The latest recognition adds to a series of recent distinctions, including joint first place in Palestine in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings, a strong performance in the 2024 Webometrics ranking, and an advanced position in the QS Arab University Rankings 2025.
