Lama Nashat Abdulrahman Al-Shanti, a graduate of the Department of Basic Education at the Faculty of Education, Islamic University of Gaza, has won the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Award for Educational Research in the undergraduate category. She received the award for her research entitled:
“The Adequacy of the Classroom Environment in Educational Tents in the Southern Governorates of Palestine.”
The award was also presented to student Dina Omar Al-Ghazali for her research titled:
“The Role of Basic Education Teachers in the Gaza Governorates in Developing Students’ Critical Thinking Skills and Ways to Enhance Them,”
under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Fayez Kamal Shaldan, Head of the Department of Basic Education at the university.
The Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani Award for Educational Research is granted annually to outstanding researchers across the Arab world. It is organised by the Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, in cooperation with the College of Education at Qatar University. The award aims to promote scientific research, advance knowledge production, enhance educational practices, and contribute to the development of educational policies, in addition to enriching the research movement across various educational disciplines in the Arab world.
This new achievement further affirms the academic excellence of students at Islamic University of Gaza and their ability to compete at the Arab level, reflecting the quality of the university’s academic and research programmes.
