Islamic University of Gaza Launches Campaign: “Together.. For Higher Education Resilience”

Today, Wednesday, 18 December 2024, the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) unveiled its campaign titled “Together.. For Higher Education Resilience”. The initiative seeks to draw attention to the immense destruction and losses inflicted on the university’s infrastructure and resources. Among the damages, 19 educational buildings across IUG’s three campuses have been completely destroyed, along with 500 classrooms. More than 200 scientific laboratories and 75 computer labs, which support students across various disciplines, have also been devastated. The central library—the largest and most significant of its kind in Gaza—suffered catastrophic losses, with over 240,000 books, journals, references, and theses destroyed by fire. These damages have caused severe setbacks in academic, research, and community initiatives.

The campaign sheds light on the hardships endured by IUG students, faculty, and administrative staff, emphasizing their urgent needs to continue and complete the educational process. To portray these struggles, the university has shared compelling designs and stories of resilience amidst the ruins. A diverse collection of videos, many produced in collaboration with students, vividly captures the challenges of pursuing education under the relentless aggression in Gaza.

The campaign’s content is available on IUG’s official website and social media platforms in both Arabic and English. It can also be accessed on the Ensany platform through the following link:
