Islamic University of Gaza has achieved second place nationally in Palestine in the second edition of 2024 Webometrics ranking, advancing an impressive 225 positions globally compared to 2023. It now ranks 64th among Arab universities.
The Webometrics global university ranking is one of the largest of its kind, assessing over 12,000 educational institutions from more than 200 countries. The global Webometrics university ranking is published in Spain by the Spanish National Research Council in January and July each year. The ranking is based on three main criteria: visibility (website content impact), transparency/open access (number of citations), and excellence (academic research output).
Professor Dr. Ayman Al-Saqqa, President of the Islamic University of Gaza, congratulated the university community and the Palestinian people on this significant achievement. He affirmed that the university remains committed to its mission of advancing higher education in Palestine and achieving progress in both research and academia. He expressed his hopes for further accomplishments for the university and for relief for the Palestinian people in the near future.
