IUG Offers Better Services for People with Disabilities

The Islamic University of Gaza signed a cooperation agreement with the social care and rehabilitation department in the Ministry of Social Development. This is a first step towards promoting the services that people with disabilities receive. The two institutions investigated various issues related to people with disabilities and suggested ways of collaboration to improve different aspects of their lives.

Both sides will exchange knowledge and experience at the vocational and technical levels and thus enhance life quality and provide better job opportunities for the target group. In order to facilitate adequate services for people with disabilities, a system has been designed and will be used to identify IUG students’ disability levels. The plan afterward is to link them to the government database.

Hopefully, this agreement will positively influence people as it promotes the rights of people with disabilities and helps them integrate effectively with the Palestinian community.

Two representative teams attended the signing ceremony.
