Graduation Ceremonies 2023: Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences

A new group of students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the Islamic University of Gaza recently graduated. The graduation ceremony was held in the conference hall to celebrate their accomplishments. The students completed their studies in the fields of finance and banking sciences, accounting and economics, and politics and media. Prof. Elian El-Holi, the Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. Salem Helles, the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences; and the faculty staff attended the event. Besides, IUG invited the graduates’ families to join the students at the journey’s end.

Determination and Development

In his speech before the ceremony audience, Prof. El-Holi mentioned a significant insight: the true essence of the Palestinian identity lies in the culture of knowledge; hence, the Palestinian society channels its utmost potential towards uplifting the cultural and educational level of future generations.

Prof. El-Holi said, “We should take pride in our resilience. Even though the restrictions in Palestine are tremendous, we could construct several higher education institutions with the Islamic university taking the lead.” Additionally, he highlighted the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences provides academic services relevant to financial technology and business; thus, it contributes to achieving sustainable development.

Moreover, the professor noted the academy constitutes a supportive environment where students can learn, conduct research, and address significant challenges in the community. By providing specialized centers that serve various majors, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Science equips the students with the experience needed to improve the local market.

Alumni Speech

Ashraf Mushtaha delivered the graduates’ speech on behalf of the graduates. He expressed his gratitude for joining the IUG family, who worked hard to upgrade the university level and lead it to be a prestigious university. “Thank you for building a generation that can take responsibility for improving society,” he said.

“I have stood on this stage before as the chairman of the technical committee and school council treasurer for three consecutive years. We stand here today to let the whole universe know that knowledge is a renewable source of energy for the Palestinians as long as IUG exists. I am proud to be a member of this promoting family,” Mushtaha concluded.

Excellence Award

Starting with the graduation protocol, Dr. El-Holi and Dr. Helles gave the award plaque to the student Farah Abdelwahed, who placed first in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with a grade of 95.83%.
