The Islamic University of Gaza celebrated the graduation of a new group of multimedia and web development students from the Faculty of Information Technology. That included students who completed bachelor’s and master’s degree requirements. The ceremony was held in the conference hall at the Islamic University. The attendants were Prof. Nasser Farhat, the University President; Dr. Mohammed Al-Aklouk, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Iyad Al-Shami, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology. Also, the academic and administrative staff of the faculty took part in the ceremony. Besides, IUG sent invitations to the graduates’ families to participate in this special event.

Resilience despite Obstacles

 Prof. Farhat congratulated the students on their graduation and success in their university studies. Then he emphasized that the Islamic university has grown, and its branches have become greener than ever. It is the source of science and the sciences’ lights. The Islamic university is a griffin. Despite facing adversity, the educational institution remains steadfast in its commitment to providing the Palestinian community with top-quality services that align with Islamic principles. It stands as a symbol of strength, resilience, and dedication to excellence.

He added, “The Faculty of Information Technology meets the continuous demand of the local and international markets since it equips students with the skills needed to improve the quality of technological aspects of life. As computer technologies entered various fields, the need for establishing a faculty for IT increased. Since then, the experts at IUG have adjusted the programs they offer in the department to fit the accelerated technical development.

The faculty offers various bachelor’s programs, including computer sciences, information technology systems, program development, multi-media, web development, web computing, mobile computing, and smart device apps. Also, the faculty offers a master’s program in the specialization of information technology.

Aya Madi expressed her gratitude that she and her classmates had successfully completed their university studies. She was proud that she had belonged to that place for four years, during which she turned her dreams into reality.

“Thank you for sharing with us this special ceremony today. Our graduation gowns display our goals and efforts over the past four years. The journey has come to an end, and the best is yet to come. Although we are glad for this remarkable accomplishment, our happiness is combined with sadness that we are departing home. We will always remember the campus, the buildings, and the nice people who guided us throughout the path of success,” she said.

Excellence Award

Starting with the graduation protocol, Dr. Al-Aklouk, Prof. Farhat, and Dr. Al-Shami gave the award plaque to the student Rana Saqallah, who placed first in the Faculty of Medicine with a grade of 95.59%.
