Continuing the series of 2023 graduation ceremonies, the Islamic University of Gaza celebrated the graduation of a group of Bachelor’s and Master’s students from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing. They held the ceremony in the conference hall at the Islamic University. The attendants included Prof. Nasser Farhat, the University President; Dr. Mohammed Al-Aklouk, the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Ashraf El-Jedi, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Mazen Alzaharna, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; health professionals; and members of the academic and administrative bodies of the faculty. The graduates’ families and loved ones were also invited to join the students on this special occasion.

A Leading Faculty
Delivering a speech before the ceremony attendants, Dr. Mohammed Al-Aklouk stressed that many factors make the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing at IUG special. One is the qualified staff, and two is the wide range of specializations it suggests. He remarked that apart from the three courses that were known before, namely physical therapy, clinical laboratory sciences, and optics, the Faculty has introduced two noteworthy courses: medical imaging and clinical nutrition. The takeaway of the speech was that all the programs of this faculty integrate to provide citizens with the best healthcare.

“Working in the Medical field for fifty years, I guarantee that the professional staff of all the hospitals and health institutions graduated from the Islamic University of Gaza. As a professor teaching in the faculty since the 1980s, I could observe how it developed at each level,” highlighted Dr. Al-Aklouk.
Alumni Speech
On behalf of her classmates, the student Shaima Ishteiwi gave a speech to express their feelings on graduation day. She said, “We are grateful for being students at IUG, the place that opened avenues for us to connect with healthcare institutions. Our heartfelt thanks to our parents, who urged us to complete this journey with the highest grades.”

Excellence Award
Starting with the graduation protocol, Dr. Al-Aklouk, Prof. Farhat, and Dr. Alzaharna gave the award plaque to the student Maram Al-Fara, who placed first in the Faculty of Health Sciences with a grade of 94.14%.
