The graduation ceremonies of the 42nd cohort, the Productivity & Generosity Cohort, kicked off on August 6 in the conference hall at the Islamic University of Gaza. On the first day, the university celebrated the undergraduates and graduates of the Faculty of Engineering, including its three departments: Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
The attendants of this special ceremony included the Board of Trustees, members of the academic and administrative bodies of the Faculty of Engineering, graduates’ families, several elitists from the Ministry of Higher Education, and community figures.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Aklouk, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, thanked the former President of the Islamic University, the scientist, Prof. Nasser Farhat, for he has dedicated a great effort to elevate the university level globally over the past six years. He pointed out that Prof. Sufian Tayeh, the representative UNESCO Chair for Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Sciences in Palestine, will take over the responsibility and continue this journey of giving, highlighting that he has received many international awards and is one of the 2% top researchers globally.

Towards Prosperity
Prof. Farhat congratulated the graduates for successfully completing their degrees. “Today, in its 45th year, the Islamic University of Gaza has grown up, branched out, and become an edifice that lightens the path of scientists of all areas of study. Based on a wealth of Islamic values, IUG will always provide the best educational services to the people,” he proceeded.
Alumni Speech
Speaking on behalf of her classmates, the student Esraa Al-Taweel, expressed her gladness to stand on the stage with the graduates after five years of hard work. She was proud to be a graduate of the Islamic university, which incubated the journey long and supported them in every step to excel in their studies. “Grateful for my family, professors, and company and everyone who stood by,” she concluded her speech.

Excellence Shields
Starting with graduation protocol, Prof. Farhat, Dr. Al-Aklouk, and Dr. Alastal, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, awarded the shield of excellence to the student Muhammad Nidal Abu Hadros, who graded 96%, the first in the Faculty of Engineering. Shields were also given to the students Amro Shatat, Hamada Abu Rajeileh, Ibrahim Abu Khater, and Mohammed Al-Shaer, who won the Engineer Zuhair Hijjawi Award for Scientific Research. Their project centered on creating a reception robot that could engage with humans, offer reception and customer service assistance and communicate using multiple languages.
