The Islamic University of Gaza has placed fourth among the Palestinian universities. That was according to the global ranking system, considering three major factors: EDURANK performance (45%), the university website (45%), and the number of graduates (10%).
The ranking has shown that IUG conducts the top research papers in physics subjects, whereas it has placed third in computer sciences and engineering subjects.
Prof. Naser Farahat, the President of IUG, commended the staff that contributed to that accomplishment. He stated, “It is an honor to challenge the hard conditions in the Gaza Strip and win high places in the Local and Global ranking systems. That significantly contributes to upgrading the quality of higher education, scientific research, and community service.”
Prof. Abdul Rauf Manama, the Dean of Quality and Development at IUG, confirmed that such a ranking maintains continuous progress and encourages competition with local and international universities. It also increases the graduates’ employability and provides opportunities to enroll in global higher education programs.
