Malik Daher, a graduate from the Physics Department at the Faculty of Science, Islamic University of Gaza, has secured the second-place position in the eighth edition of the Palestinian Islamic Bank Award for Applied Sciences. The award focuses on the fields of Earth, Water, and Agriculture, acknowledging their contribution to enhancing local production.
The winners of the eighth edition of the prestigious Palestinian Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research were recently announced by His Excellency Professor Mahmoud Abu Mouis, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Daher’s outstanding achievement came as a result of his research project titled “Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor Based on Graphene Layer for the Detection of Waterborne Bacteria,” which was conducted under the guidance of Professor Sufyan Tayeh.
Professor Yousef Al-Jaish, the esteemed Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Islamic University, commended the excellence demonstrated by the university’s students and graduates. He emphasized the exceptional quality of their research contributions, which have been recognized with esteemed research and scientific accolades on local, regional, and international platforms.
