A delegation from the Department of Grievances and Human Rights at the Police recently paid a visit to the Islamic University of Gaza. Leading the delegation were Brigadier General Raed Al-Amoudi, Director of the Department of Grievances and Human Rights, and Colonel Dr. Hussam Al-Sahabani, Deputy Director. They were warmly received by Professor Dr. Nasser Farhat, President of the Islamic University; Professor Dr. Elyan Al-Holi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhaisen, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, alongside a group of university staff.
During the visit, Professor Dr. Farhat extended a warm welcome to the delegation and commended their prominent role in advancing principles of justice and human rights within society. He underscored the significance of these principles in upholding social stability, security, and public awareness. Moreover, Professor Farhat highlighted the Islamic University’s steadfast commitment to fostering and reinforcing collaborative partnerships with various societal institutions, aiming to contribute to its overall development and enhance its outputs and services.
Expounding on the core pillars of the Islamic University, Professor Dr. Farhat outlined its dedication to providing higher education, promoting scientific research, and serving the community. Within this framework, he also emphasized the extensive network of relationships the university has established with regional, Arab, and local educational and community institutions.
Brigadier General Al-Amoudi, in turn, lauded the achievements of the Islamic University in the realm of higher education and its invaluable service to the Palestinian community. He commended the institution’s attention to the social sector and its unwavering commitment to its advancement through partnerships and cooperation across various domains. Brigadier General Al-Amoudi highlighted the Grievances Department’s ongoing efforts to pursue justice, uphold human rights principles, and foster a culture of social harmony within the sector. Furthermore, he underscored the vital role played by university students, considering them one of the most essential sectors in Gaza.
Regarding the relationship between the police force and universities as well as educational institutions, Brigadier General Al-Amoudi emphasized its depth and significance. He also mentioned the Grievances Diwan’s keen interest in organizing meetings, informative lectures, and various activities that promote and safeguard the rights and responsibilities of students.
