The Islamic University of Gaza has been recognized as the best higher education institution in the field of research production by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The award is based on several criteria, including the number and quality of research publications, the impact of research outputs, the quality of scientific journals published, the number of scientific conferences held, and the number of graduates from postgraduate studies.
Prof. Dr. Youssef Al-Jaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, praised the Ministry’s efforts in organizing such competitions and expressed his hope for their regular organization. He also lauded the Islamic University’s excellence in scientific research and its receipt of the award, noting its prowess in international scientific publishing databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Thirteen researchers and graduate students from the Islamic University have also won awards from the Ministry in various categories.
In the field of research production, Dr. Bassam Tayeh from the Faculty of Engineering received first place in the medical and applied sciences category, while Prof. Dr. Hala Al-Khuzondar from the same faculty received second place. In the medical and health sciences category, both Prof. Dr. Abdelraouf Elmanama and Prof. Dr. Majed Yassin received second place. Prof. Dr. Eyad Al-Agha from the Faculty of Information Technology received second place in the information technology and systems category.
In the best doctoral thesis award, Dr. Enas Abu Homaidah from the Faculty of Islamic Fundamentals received first place in the literature, law, and Islamic studies category. Dr. Abdulrahman Abu Ouda and Dr. Mohammed Aslan from the Faculty of Education received second place in the educational and social sciences category. Student Basma Al-Tiyan from the Faculty of Science received third place in the engineering and natural sciences category.
In the best master’s thesis award, graduate Tamer Al-Najjar from the Faculty of Engineering received second place in the engineering and natural sciences category. Graduates Hisham Al-Haj Ahmed and Ghada Qandil from the Faculty of Arts received third and fourth places, respectively, in the literature, journalism, and media categories. Graduate Abdullah Abu Nada received fifth place in the information technology and systems category.
