Two IUG students awarded DAAD scholarships to study master’s degrees on campus

Two female students from the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) have been selected to receive scholarships from the DAAD’s in-country Scholarship Programme for 2023, enabling them to pursue master’s degrees at the Islamic University. In this respect, Ms. Haya Bakr has been granted a scholarship to study Crisis and Disaster Management, while Ms. Nada Sham’a has been granted a scholarship to study Information Technology.

Prof. Dr. Nazem Al-Ashqar, Vice Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, acknowledged the DAAD-supported study programme as a distinguished initiative, given its provision of scholarships for studying at Palestinian universities for the first time. These scholarships cover all tuition fees as well as research expenses.

Prof. Al-Ashqar emphasized the Islamic University’s commitment to facilitating an appropriate academic and research environment for students during their master’s programme.

The scholarships awarded to Haya Bakr and Nada Sham’a reflect the DAAD’s dedication to supporting higher education in Palestine, while the Islamic University’s efforts to provide suitable academic and research facilities for scholarship recipients underscore the importance of investing in education for the betterment of Palestinian society.
