As part of the Culture for Sustainable and Inclusive Peace (CUSP) project activities, in partnership with University of Glasgow and funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Arts and Humanities Council (AHRC), and in full cooperation with the Woman Studies Center at the Islamic University-Gaza (IUG), a series of 3-day workshops have been conducted tackling the Palestinian woman issues under three domains; Legal & Shariaa, psychological & Health, and Socio-economic to produce a context-based and comprehensive research guide.

The cusp team; Dr. Nazmi El Masri, Dr. Mahmoud Jalambo, Eng. Sharihan EL Masri, their non-academic partner NAWA represented by Ms. Inas Abu Saleem, and the head of IUG Woman Studies Center Dr. Somaya Saima, has  organized the three workshops aimed at identifying and prioritizing researchable topics to be conducted by postgraduates and other interested researchers and institutions by guiding the concerned parties to intervene effectively and efficiently to achieve social justice to all society members.

33 Palestinian experts were involved in these workshops, including females and males, who represented several GOs and NGOs among which academic and non-academic institutions. In each workshop, the participants were divided into sub-groups facilitated by the CUSP team and the Woman Studies Center representatives. A comprehensive list of the top woman’s issues to be researched was produced, based on the deep discussion and the forms prepared earlier by the organizing committee of the workshops. Finally, the experts’ feedback through an open discussion was concluded by presenting the list of the agreed-upon priorities of researchable topics in all three domains, at the end of the workshop.
