IUG’s External Relations team holds online meeting with Cooperation Coordinator at French Consulate

The External Relations Office at the Islamic University of Gaza recently held an online meeting with Ms. Maud Priard, University Cooperation Coordinator at the French Consulate, to foster networking and relationships. Attended by Eng. Amani Al-Maqadmah, Head of the External Relations Department, and Ms. Walaa Safi, Coordinator of International Exchange Projects, the meeting covered various topics, including the university’s international partnerships, achievements, and advanced rankings.

Al-Maqadmah presented the university and highlighted its strong ties with French universities, particularly its active membership in the Tethys University Network and the REMI network. Ms. Priard praised the university’s multiple partnerships around the world and lauded the university’s centers, such as the Women’s Studies Center, Legal Clinic, and Disability and Integration Services Center. She also indicated that they annually receive proposals for research projects for the Maqdisi Program, and that about 40% of the applications are submitted by the Islamic University.

Ms. Safi emphasized the importance of international exchange projects in expanding the university’s partnership base and presented statistics on the participation of students and staff in these projects. She also discussed the university’s efforts to strengthen its relationships with French universities.

The External Relations team explained the mechanisms used to encourage female students to join international exchange programs and master’s scholarships to enhance the position of women in the Islamic University and the local community. The team also explored potential cooperation with the French consulate, including expanding partnerships with French universities and promoting Islamic University graduates for postgraduate studies in France.

The meeting concluded with an invitation from the Islamic University’s External Relations team for Ms. Priard and the French consulate team to visit the university. The team expressed their readiness to cooperate with the French consulate in holding meetings with graduates from French universities.

This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the partnership between the Islamic University of Gaza and French universities, paving the way for more collaborative efforts in the future.
