IUG’s External Relations holds “International and Experience Chat” meeting

The External Relations team at the Islamic University of Gaza organized a meeting titled “International and Experience Chat”. The meeting aimed to provide an opportunity for academics and administrators at the university to exchange experiences and ideas regarding international and regional visits related to scientific research projects, capacity building projects, and international exchange projects that have been implemented and to identify the most significant challenges faced.

Dr. Sami Shaath, Deputy Dean of External Relations, emphasized the importance of participating in international activities, as they play a significant role in increasing partnerships and strengthening ties with partner institutions. Ms. Wala Safi, Coordinator of International Exchange Projects, stressed the need to expand the university’s partnerships and international participation, as they also play a critical role in improving the university’s image in international rankings.

The External Relations team expressed their readiness to provide any assistance to those working at the university regarding international visits and participation. Engineer Amani Al-Maqadmah, Head of External Relation, announced the launch of the International Travel Guide in the coming weeks and called for experienced people to contribute to its development and share their important travel experiences in this guide.

During the meeting, several academics and administrators shared their experiences and insights regarding their international visits and projects. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Astal discussed the visit to Norway for the “Development of Teacher Education in the Science of Teaching Principles for Early Childhood Education in Palestine and Norway” project, which aimed to follow up on the development of scholarships within the project, in addition to working on a joint project with the University of South-Eastern Norway as one of the project’s sustainability measures.

Dr. Younes Moghier and Dr. Fahd Rabah talked about their visit to Jordan with eight students from the Islamic University as part of the “Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering” project funded by the Erasmus+ program and managed by the Free University of Brussels in Belgium.

Other academics also shared their experiences in various international projects and visits, such as Dr. Bassam Tayeh’s experience at Sabina University in Italy, Dr. Sohair Ammar’s visit to Northumbria University in Britain, Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri’s scientific and research visits to British, Finnish, and Norwegian universities, Dr. Walid Al-Mudallal’s visits to Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, and Switzerland, Professor Hala Al-Khuzondar planned visit to Karachi, and Engineer Alaadin Al-Hashim’s visit to Izmir Katip Celebi University in Turkey.

During the meeting, participants discussed the obstacles they faced during their international trips and focused on providing solutions to them.  They exchanged ideas and experiences and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in academic and research fields.
