The Islamic University of Gaza has recently celebrated an important milestone in the realization of a project for releasing certificates for graduates from the university. The ceremony, supported by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, was a joyous event attended by leading figures including Dr. Muhammad Al-Aqlouk, chairman of the board of trustees, Prof. Nasser Farhat, president of the Islamic University, Mr. Samir Jarad, a representative of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in Palestine, as well as the university’s employees, students, and their families.
More than 700 students from various disciplines were granted their hard-earned degrees, providing much-needed relief for those affected by the challenging economic climate in Palestine, especially in Gaza.
The Right to Education
During his address, Dr. Al-Aklouk stressed the university’s unwavering commitment to empowering students and ensuring that every individual is granted their right to education. He also lauded the importance of forging partnerships that benefit the university and its students, leading to its continued excellence in the higher education landscape.
Providing Aid to Students
In his remarks, Prof. Farhat appreciated support from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development fo Palestinian educational institutions, noting their contributions to the establishment of solar energy infrastructure projects in the university. He also applauded the efforts of External Affairs Deanship in providing aid to students, considering their economic conditions and alleviating their burdens.
Supporting the Educational Process
Similarly, Mr. Sameer Jarad, representative of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, underscored the fund’s belief in the importance of supporting universities in providing and graduating competent individuals who can uplift Palestinian society and economy.
Graduates’ Speech
Representing the graduating students, Rizq Kashkou expressed his gratitude for the university’s role in supporting its students, and thanked the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development for their primary support. He encouraged fellow graduates to explore opportunities in Arab countries, contribute to nation-building, and provide support to their homeland, particularly those still affected by poverty and siege.
Graduation Protocol
As a fitting conclusion, Dr. Elyan Alholi requested the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the University President to conclude the commencement graduation ceremony by reviewing the students’ results, ensuring that they meet the graduation requirements.
The ceremony was a celebration of academic success, partnership, and the unwavering commitment to providing every Palestinian student with access to a quality education.
