The Islamic University team won the Universities and Colleges Table Tennis Championship after defeating the University College of Applied Sciences in the final with a score of 3/1. The championship was organized and held under the patronage of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Table Tennis Union, and hosted by the Islamic University.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Said Al-Ghorra, Dean of Student Affairs at the Islamic University, Mr. Mu’min Al-Azazi, Head of the Department of Sports at the University, Mr. Nabil Awaja, Director of the Sports Unit at the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, Mr. Khalid Al-Jerjawi, Head of the Student Activities Department in Higher Education, and Dr. Othman Al-‘Amasi, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University College of Applied Sciences.
The results of the championship are as follows:
The Islamic University defeated the Gaza Training College (3/0), the Gaza Community College for Tourism Studies defeated the Arab College (3/0), the University College of Applied Sciences defeated Al-Israa University (3/0), and the Rebat College defeated Gaza University (3/1). In the semi-finals, the Islamic University defeated the Gaza Community College for Tourism Studies (3/0), and the University College of Applied Sciences defeated the Rebat College (3/1). In the final, the Islamic University defeated the University College of Applied Sciences (3/1).
The All-Sports Department of the Higher Council, led by Mr. Muhammad Abu ‘Eita and made up of Mr. Iyad Al-Jaish, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, and Fadi Jabir, was in charge of running the championship.
