The Deanship of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Islamic University, in cooperation with the Palestinian Youth Academy, launched the “Skills” training program to develop the capacities of postgraduate students at the Islamic University.
Prof. Dr. Youssef Al-Jaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, addressed the fact that the Deanship is keen to hold training programs to build the capacities of postgraduate students at the Islamic University in the various fields of scientific research. He noted that the Deanship has worked over the past four years to integrate training programs at the university into its work system with the aim of building the research personality of postgraduate students at the university.
Prof. Dr. Al-Jaish stressed in the opening speech of the training program that the current training skills program is characterized by the presence of a group of trainers from Germany, France, Portugal, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. The training program is also characterized by the diversity of training topics and their comprehensiveness to form the infrastructure for a discrete research personality, as the training topics are integrated to build a research personality capable of scientific production, academic writing, and international scientific publishing.
Dr. Hazem Al-Baz, President of the Palestinian Youth Academy, lauded the cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Islamic University, stressing its importance in developing postgraduate students’ skills. He emphasized that the Academy seeks to work on strengthening the scientific research system and relevant experiences and practices through training and networking with universities in Palestine and abroad.
Dr. Amal Sarsour, from the United Nations University in Belgium, opened the first meetings of the Skills Program with a lecture on the skills of paraphrasing and avoiding scientific plagiarism. She presented a set of practices and tips to avoid plagiarism and develop solid scientific material free from academic plagiarism. She also presented a set of practical models and examples in this regard.
