Islamic University of Gaza is among best (91-100) Arab universities in Times Ranking of Arab Universities

The Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has been listed in an advanced ranking of the best (91–100) Arab universities according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking. IUG ranked first in Gaza and third in Palestine.

This ranking is of global importance and is issued by the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, a weekly magazine published in Britain that follows news and issues related to higher education around the world. The university had already participated in the Times impact rankings, which evaluate universities based on the extent to which academic institutions achieve sustainable development goals, and was registered as an observer member.

The ranking is based on five main indicators, which are: teaching, research, citations, the international outlook, and industry income, divided into sixteen indicators. This is in addition to internationally publishing a number of (500) research papers during the last five years as a requirement to enter the ranking.

Prof. Dr. Nasser Farhat, IUG President, congratulated the employees and students on the advanced place that the university has achieved in this ranking and other rankings throughout its long history. He emphasized that the university’s achievements in the higher education field and its entry into the international rankings indicate the teamwork spirit and collaboration of all deanships, faculties, and departments of the university that all worked in harmony to continue the path of excellence and creativity that IUG is best known for.

Prof. Dr. Abdelraouf Elmanama, Dean of Quality and Development Deanship, highlighted that the advancement of the university’s ranking in the international rankings is the result of efforts exerted by all university employees over the years to raise the university’s reputation among international universities. He gave special thanks to the university’s rankings committee, which helped raise the university’s ranking among the international rankings.
