The Deanship of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Islamic University received a delegation from the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence in Ramallah, including Engineer Ziyad Tamah, CEO of the Council, Dr. Riyad Al-Khodary, member of the Council, and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the council.
The delegation was received by: Prof. Dr. Youssef El-Jaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies; Prof. Dr. Nizam Al-Ashqar, University Representative in the Council for Innovation and Excellence; and Mr. Maysara Al-Qishawy, Director of the Public Relations Department.
The visit aimed at discussing the opportunities for joint cooperation in the field of supporting applied scientific research and directing research towards development requirements in Palestine.
Prof. El-Jaish stressed the importance of the Council’s role in nurturing innovation and innovators in Palestine, highlighting the significance of encouraging scientific research in Palestine towards addressing the problems of Palestinian society in all fields and the need to direct research towards new paths that lead to concrete results that serve development in Palestine.
Eng. Tamah expressed his happiness at visiting the Islamic University, stressing his continuous endeavor to enhance cooperation with the university in the fields of scientific research and entrepreneurship. Eng. Tamah illustrated the main work directions in the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, the sectors it supervises, and the programs it offers to serve innovators in Palestine.
Eng. Tamah pointed out that the Council is developing a number of programs during the current period in cooperation with official bodies in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the private sector to enhance the system of innovation and excellence in Palestine.
Within the framework of its visit to the university, the delegation toured the Islamic University Museum to see the university’s development phases and its scientific, research, and societal achievements.
