The Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University of Gaza organized the closing exhibition of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign as a culmination of the campaign achievements implemented during the Pink October 2022, titled “Light up your life in pink.”
The closing exhibition activities were held in the presence of Prof. Nasser Farhat, IUG-President; Prof. Ahmed Mohasin, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Fadel Naim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; a delegation from Oxford University; representatives from the Palestinian Medical Forum-Student Branch; and a large gathering of those interested and concerned.
Dr. Naim indicated that this campaign comes within the framework of social responsibility and the societal role of the faculty, refereeing to the importance of service education, that is, learning through community service, represented by activities and campaigns that have a major role in qualifying students for the future as doctors to communicate and interact with patients and the community.
The exhibition included several corners demonstrating breast cancer: corners for introducing the disease and the importance of detecting it; symptoms of infection and risk factors; methods of examination and ways of prevention; a special corner on the activities and achievements of the student forum during the study years; and other specialized entertainment corners. This is the eighth consecutive campaign held by the forum at the university, which aims to raise awareness in the community.
