The Department of Environment and Earth Sciences in the Faculty of Science at Islamic University of Gaza organized a scientific lecture on the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on the Palestinian environment, which comes in celebration of Arab Environment Day 2022, held on October 14 of each year to discuss the repercussions of environmental degradation in all its aspects.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Yasser Al-Nahal, a faculty member in the Department of Environment and Earth Sciences, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Science.
Prof. Al-Nahal indicated that the aim of the scientific lecture is to raise awareness of the risks to the environment in general, resulting from carbon dioxide emissions in particular, and the consequent loss of environmental production of energy and oxygen, and that it is a threat to societies with the hazards it leaves behind.
Prof. Al-Nahal spoke in detail about the source and origin of carbon dioxide, the resulting advantages and disadvantages surrounding the society, and global solutions to limit carbon dioxide emissions.
Prof. Al-Nahal concluded his speech by listening to the students’ inquiries and providing some tips that help reduce the environmental risk.
