The Department of Multimedia Technology and Web Development, the Faculty of Information Technology at the Islamic University, organized a scientific lecture via Zoom on metaverse subjects for students of multimedia specialization.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Wissam Mohamed Ibrahim, trainer and lecturer at Alexandria University, Egypt. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Ashraf Moghari, Head of the Multimedia and Web Development Department, and Ms. Lamia Al-Saeedi, a faculty member in the department.
Dr. Ibrahim provided a conceptual introduction to the technologies related to the field of metaverse, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, hybrid or mixed reality, and the history of the metaverse and its relationship to blockchain technology.
Dr. Ibrahim emphasized the necessary programming skills for metaverse specialists, reviewing some platforms that help create basic elements that can be used in the metaverse and the tools used to operate this technology. He concluded the meeting by referring to the areas of work for metaverse specialists.
The meeting was broadcast on the Facebook page of the Islamic University and the page of the Faculty of Information Technology. It was attended by a large number of faculty members, students, and those interested.
This meeting is one of the electronic activities held by the Faculty of Information Technology with the aim of adding knowledge and skills to the faculty students and the department, and through which experts in the labor market and the various fields taught in the faculty are hosted with the aim of linking students with the latest applied and research developments and informing them about the experiences of those in various technical fields.
