Faculty of Information Technology holds training meeting for Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest (PCPC).

The Faculty of Information Technology at Islamic University of Gaza held a training meeting for university students in the Gaza Strip who are registered in the Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest (PCPC) in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Moghari, Head of Multimedia and Web Development Department, and Dr. Akram Rodwan, Contest Coordinator in the Gaza Strip. More than 50 students from various universities in the Gaza Strip participating in the contest attended the meeting.

Dr. Rodwan welcomed the students and gave a set of information about the contest for this year including the date and place of holding it; and the method of registration. He also clarified that the training included two sessions. In the first session, engineer Osama Rodwan gave an overview of the contest, the nature of the questions, and the programming languages used. In the second session, engineer Amjad Al-Husseini from Hebron University discussed solutions’ strategies and algorithms, and engineer Walid Murtaja introduced a presentation of his experience in the contest in the past years.

At the conclusion of the training meeting, Dr. Moghari thanked the presenters for their useful contributions and promised that there would be a remote lecture to enrich the students’ experience in the methods of solving programming problems using dynamic programming algorithms.

It is worth noting that the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the largest and most important global programming contest in which more than 4,000 universities participate. It is also worth noting that the PCPC programming contest has been set for this year on October 9–10th. The first day is for training, and the second is for the contest.
