Prof. Dr. Amin Wafi, Professor of Media, Journalism and Media Department, Faculty of Arts at the Islamic University, took part in the activities of the conference organized virtually by the Association of Afro-Asian Universities under the title: “New Media and its role in enhancing social security and economic development”, in cooperation with Mohammed V University in Rabat, and the Federation of Arab Women Leaders, and Aqua Group for Technology and Education.
The conference reviewed a worldwide group of scientific research that had a prominent role in diagnosing reality and developing solutions to meet the challenges in the region.
On behalf of the researchers, Prof. Wafi explained that the scientific conference is a valuable opportunity for academics to meet in a distinguished research event to present the outcome of their research that supports the knowledge process in the region.
Prof. Wafi participated in the conference with a scientific paper represented in a comparative analytical study on the media image of the martyred journalist Sherine Abu Akleh on the international Arabic-speaking satellite channels’ websites .
Prof. Wafi indicated that the study aimed to monitor the dimensions and components of Sherine Abu Akleh’ image on those websites, study its characteristics, and investigate the level of truth in what those websites present regarding that image. He referred to the study’s recommendations, which stated that the websites’ administration should be objective and professional when dealing with the Palestinian issue and should consider all positive and negative features of the personality, not focusing only on the negative ones.
