Islamic University of Gaza has advanced 304 ranks at the level of world universities according to the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities (second edition 2022). The Islamic University has been ranked 77 at the level of the Arab world, fourth at the level of Palestine, and first at the level of the Gaza Strip.
Prof. Dr. Abdelraoud Elmanama, Dean of Quality and Development at Islamic University of Gaza, drew attention to the university’s continuous efforts to follow up on the world rankings file, pointing to the achievement of that pursuance in the university’s progress in the international university rankings. He underlined the significance of providing the best educational services to students and the community, and raising the level of academic and research work to achieve constant progress and highlight the university’s name among international and Arab universities.
The Webometrics world ranking of universities is issued in Spain by the Higher Council for Scientific Research in January and July of each year. It is based on three main criteria: visibility (the impact of site content), transparency/openness (number of citations), and excellence/scholar in scientific research (number of research).
