Ms. Nesma Al-Ghoula, Coordinator of Disability and Integration Services Center in Community Service and Continuing Education Deanship at the Islamic University of Gaza, has participated in the International Scientific Congress for People with Special Needs, organized by Irbid National University in coordination with the North Jordan Association for Multiculturalism and in cooperation with the European project: Higher Education for All (Edu4All).
The congress received qualitative participation from specialists and experts at national and Arab levels. The congress came as a reminder of the importance of people with special needs in the process of construction, development, and creation of an environment that incubates their energies and creativity.

During the congress, Ms. Al-Ghoula reviewed a research paper entitled: “Evaluation of policies and practices of inclusive education for students with disabilities in Palestinian higher education institutions.” The participation in the congress came under the Disability Under Siege project, executed by Dr. Nazmi Al-Masry, Dr. Alaa Al-Adini, and Ms. Nesma Al-Ghoula. It was one of the project activities implemented at Islamic University of Gaza in partnership with the University of Birmingham in Britain and the Lebanese American University.

Ms. Al-Ghoula also took part in the “Creativity and Innovators” conference at Irbid National University, during which she paid visits to a number of local and civil society institutions and Jordanian universities that serve people with disabilities.
