Poet Omar bin Al-Muzaffar says: “Those who follow the path shall arrive; more knowledge shall compel the enemy, and knowledge’s beauty is reforming the deeds.” Muhammad chose this line of poetry as a way of life. He is a student at Islamic University majoring in Political Science and Media. He has succeeded in achieving his aspirations by winning the title of “Best Debater” in the Palestinian Debating League for the year 2021. This secured his team’s win by obtaining the first place among eight universities in the Gaza Strip.
Muhammad saw that this threshold of an unending road of toil, fatigue, and determination mixed with a giving spirit, endless passion, and a sense of responsibility must be passed to reach what is greater. After the university captured all these qualities, it decided to choose to send Mohammed as its representative on an educational mission of a political training under the project “Reconciliation Studies and Alternative Means of Resolving Inter-State Conflicts”, hosted by the University of Jena, Germany, and was preceded by extensive training on the same subject in order to discover its essence.
Muhammed successfully passed 366 contestants from twelve Arab countries in the Townhall competition in Tunisia in 2022, securing the first place in the Arab world and Europe in a competition run by the “Debate Initiative” Foundation. The topic of debate varies from one year to another, and for this year, it was on fighting corruption. Muhammed carefully shaped his idea about transparency and presented it in 99 seconds using his simple and interesting approach. The video clip he presented received the highest views among the other clips. Despite this success, all the contestants were present in Tunisia except for Mohamed. That is because of the occupation’s delay in issuing his passport and the closure of the crossings that cracked his dream. So that he freed his spirit and participated with a video clip aired on a Tunisian satellite channel, breaking the barriers of pain with hope.
“Life without determination, patience, and perseverance bequeaths humiliation”, and perhaps this description shows the reality of those who resist, struggle, and persevere to achieve what they aspire to while preserving honorable principles and authentic values. The ambition of Mohammed Hamad will not stop at this point; he will soar like an eagle that is known for its strong sight and the breadth of its field of vision, that is, to see his strengths, success, and brilliance, so he can land and fetch them.
