At Islamic University of Gaza, with funding from the ROSE2ROSE Foundation, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation has been signed between Humanitarian Care the Malaysian – MYCARE and Islamic University of Gaza – IUG to implement “Psychological care Project for widows of martyrs of the last war on Gaza 2021”
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Ziad Shehada, MyCARE representative in the Gaza Strip, and on behalf of Islamic University of Gaza, Dr. Khaled Al-Hallaq, Dean of External Affairs.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding comes with the aim of implementing all project activities, which provide integrated psychological and social care for the wives of the martyrs of the “Israeli aggression” on the Gaza Strip in 2021 , and providing advisory services to widows in dealing with their children and various life crises, as well as reducing psychological pressure and post-traumatic stress disorder among the wives of martyrs due to losing the husband who is the main and only source of income for the family. To achieve such aims, individual and counseling sessions as well psychological interventions will be applied. The psychological interventions will be guided by a distinguished group of psychologists under the supervision of Psychological Counseling Center at the university in order to ensure psychological follow-up of the wives of martyrs of 2021 war on Gaza.
