Islamic University of Gaza – IUG, signed a cooperation agreement with International Educational Scientific and Culture Organization – IESCO, as part of the activities of “Distinctive Student Fund Project” to support distinctive Palestinian students in the Gaza Strip, funded by Cinta-Gaza Malaysia. The project aims at supporting and developing educational, cultural and scientific sectors in Arab and Islamic worlds, especially in marginalized areas.
The agreement was signed on behalf of IUG by Dr. Khaled Al-Hallaq, Dean of External Affairs, and on behalf of IESCO, Dr. Muhammad Abu Odeh – a representative of the organization, in the presence of Dr. Hisham Madi, Deputy Dean of Foreign Affairs.
The agreement articles stipulate that IESCO is responsible for nominating the beneficiary students of the grant after verifying data and documents sent by them. IESCO shall conduct a thorough inspection for eligibility through examining signatures, stamps, registration certificates, transcripts and the financial file for each student. IUG, however, is committed to providing reports and photos that document the project, as well as an introductory meeting to inform students about the grand and the donor.
