Dr. Fadel Naim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Islamic University of Gaza (IUG), participated via Zoom in the ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement to obtain a degree in Conflict Medicine course in partnership with Nineveh University in Iraq and Aden University in Yemen under the supervision of Global Health Institute at American University of Beirut.
This course targets 20 students at higher levels in the faculty and focuses on the principles of conflict medicine, scientific research in conflict times, treating wounds caused by injury in wars, and handling various diseases in crisis, which qualifies these students to deal with crises and disasters.
Dr. Naim stressed the importance of signing this agreement as the first cooperation among these Arab universities, particularly in this course, which was developed on the basis of the needs of society in the four countries. He clarified that targeting university students establishes a common culture and behavior among health workers on how to deal and cope with unusual situations resulting from conflict and crisis.
