Faculty of Information Technology holds a seminar for its scientific departments

Faculty of Information Technology at Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) held a seminar for its scientific departments in the presence of Dr. Iyad Al-Shamy – Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Basem Al-Ejla – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and Dr. Tawfiq Barhoum – Head of Software Development and Information Technology departments, Mr. Arafat Abu Jrai- Director of the faculty, a group of participants in the seminar, and students of the faculty in Gaza and Southern area branches.

Opening Session

In his speech at the opening session, Dr. Barhoum stressed that the faculty of Information Technology has always strived to keep pace with rapid changes in the technical world through curricular activities, updated plans, and extracurricular activities such as seminars and workshops that help prepare curriculum study plans for students.

Dr. Barhoum pointed out that the seminar includes sessions with technological content that discusses several questions posed by students and academic, governmental and private sectors, which require holding permanent dialogue sessions that provide continuous flaw of information on modern technologies from qualified and experienced scientists.

First Session

The seminar was held over three scientific sessions, the first one was a discussion chaired by Engineer Ashraf Al-Astal, in participation with Dr. Iyad Al-Shamy, Dr. Kamal Al-Masry – Director General of Smart Management at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Engineer Ashraf Al-Yazuri – Head of Vision Plus Company, and Eng. Muhammad Abu Safiya – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Information Technology Syndicate. The discussion tackled topics of academic plans, the labor market, and information technology related to technologies and specializations that change with time, and the opportunities available to students and graduates.

Second Session

The second session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Alaa Al-Halis, in which Dr. Iyad Al-Shamy discussed the Internal Arabization technique, while Dr. Iyad Al-Agha referred to CI/CD, and Dr. Raed Rashid referred to NFT technologies.

Third Session

The third scientific session was chaired by Dr. Basem Al-Ejla, in which Engineer Hazem Al-Rakhawi addressed ASO, while Dr. Shadi Abu Dalfa highlighted data analysis techniques, and Dr. Rasha Atallah spoke about facial recognition technology.
