Prof. Yousef El-Jaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at Islamic University of Gaza, announced the launch of the Islamic University vision for Scientific Research “IUGvision 2026”, which aims to raise the Islamic University’s international classification.
Prof. El-Jaish pointed out that the Deanship seeks, through the new vision, to enhance the classification of the Islamic University in international rankings to be among the top 1,000 universities in the world by 2026.
Prof. El-Jaish stressed that the Deanship’s tools to achieve this goal are to enhance the number and quality of research outputs for employees and students at the Islamic University, as the Deanship is keen to double the number of research published on behalf of the University by 2026, and will work to benefit from the capabilities of its students by encouraging them to publish internationally .
Regarding the work mechanisms that the Deanship will follow to achieve the vision, Prof. El-Jaish noted that the Deanship has a number of tracks and work programs that it will follow within its 2026 vision plan, the most important of which are: training programs and capacity building for researchers and students, training summer camps in the field of international publishing, and awareness campaigns for classifications and academic writing and publishing.
Prof. El-Jaish emphasized that one of the most important tracks of the Deanship will focus on grants and financial rewards for researchers from faculty members and graduate students at the university, in addition to supporting more than (205) studies annually for publication in Scopus database, according to a number of criteria related to the quality of scientific paper, the journal classification,..etc.
