Business and Technology Incubator and IncubMe Incubator in Algeria launch “Africa by IncubMe X MEA” project

Business and Technology Incubator (BTI) at Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) represented the Palestinian Entrepreneurs in a new partnership with IncubMe, an Algerian business incubator, engaged in incubation and acceleration of entrepreneurial projects and start-ups, currently executing “Africa by IncubMe X MEA” project in its second cycle. This project is an incubation and acceleration program supported by the Algerian Government and a range of public and private companies.

The program offers a distinctive opportunity for startups and entrepreneurial ideas from different countries to develop their projects, as well as a dynamic environment to collaborate with young entrepreneurs from different cultures and disciplines with diverse ideas.

During its first version, the project supported 16 entrepreneurs from five different countries by joining the incubation programme and taking advantage of the various services of training, mentoring, networking and travel to participate in the program in Algeria.

This year, IncubMe launched the second wider version of the program to support youth and entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East, entitled “AFRICA by IncubMe x MEA”, in (13) countries: “Ghana, Mozambique, Gabon, Togo, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Nigeria, Angola, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar and Palestine”.

IncubMe x MEA’s partnership with BTI will support young Palestinian entrepreneurs by providing them with a unique opportunity to participate in a valuable international incubation program. The program will include the incubation of participating ideas and projects, as well as hosting them throughout the program in Algeria. The program will also include training sessions and mentoring from international and global experiences, networking with financiers, investors and many services aiming to enhance the viability and success of participating startups.

The launch of the project has been recently announced, in the presence of the representatives of the participating countries as well as a group of active personalities and institutions from different countries. BTI participated in the launch ceremony via live broadcast through Zoom technology.

During his intervention at the launch, Engineer Basil Qandil, BTI Director, expressed his gladness of the partnership between BTI and IncubMe, where BTI represents Palestine as the largest Palestinian incubator. He stressed BTI endeavor to support and strengthen the capacities of young men and women in the Gaza Strip through various program and projects, adding that the project “AFRICA by IncubMe x MEA” will be a new beginning and a spark of hope for a group of creative Palestinian entrepreneurial youth.
