A memorandum of understanding was signed between Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) and PICOMS International University College in Malaysia. Prof. Dr. Nasser Farhat, IUG President, represented IUG, and Prof. Dr. Wan Mohd Azizi Bin Wan Sulaiman, Vice Chancellor, represented PICOMS International University College.
The signing ceremony was attended by both IUG’s members of the Board of Directors and, remotely, by PICOMS International University College’s members of the Board of Trustees.
The agreement aimed at enhancing joint cooperation between the two parties to develop capacities of academicians and researchers in both universities. The two parties agreed to cooperate in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and teaching Islamic and Palestinian studies.
The agreement stipulated the possibility of exchanging academic staff, researchers and students at different times of the year according to the needs of the programs, as well as offering a number of scholarships to obtain a doctorate degree in some programs at PICOMS.
The two parties expressed their gladness at signing this agreement, considering it an extension to the historical cooperation between Malaysian and Palestinian peoples at various levels.
