Prof. Nasser Farhat – President of Islamic University of Gaza, His Excellency Dr. Ayman Al-Yazuri – Undersecretary of Ministry of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Elyan Al-Houli – Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhaisen – Vice President for Administrative Affairs, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, inaugurated the exhibition “Rabee Biladi – The Spring of Our Country- for Plants and Flowers”. The exhibition was held on the university campus in the presence of a group of interested and specialists, and with the participation of many nurseries and agricultural projects. The exhibition is scheduled to last for three days from 23-21 March 2022.
About 17 agricultural nurseries are participating in the exhibition, displaying many ornamental plants and flowers, vegetable and fruit trees, all types of cacti, agricultural tools and supplies, soil and fertilizers.
Prof. Farhat said: “The Islamic University organizes various exhibitions that support and enhance the value of the local product; In order to market it and introduce it to the community”. He explained that the exhibition is in line with the year of sustainability and its goals recently launched by the university that include the preservation and protection of the green environment.
Dr. Al-Yazuri stressed that the opening of the exhibition presents a civilized message about the local Palestinian product of basic commodities and products that the Palestinian citizen needs, as well as highlighting the aesthetic environment of flowers and ornamental plants, which symbolize the civilization and identity of the Palestinian community.
Dr. Al-Yazuri pointed out that holding the exhibition at the Islamic University demonstrates the university’s interest in preserving the green environment, encouraging its students to contribute to creating a beautiful and diverse environment, as well as its constant endeavor to raise awareness of the local community to protect the environment and Earth
