A foreign delegation expert in the field of cultural heritage visited Islamic University of Gaza (IUG). The delegation included: Dr. Raymond Bundin- International Expert in Cultural Heritage, and Mr. Anthony Dotomilo- Head of International Premiere Urgence Mission in Palestine, accompanied by: Engineer Mohammed Rustam – Representative of International Premiere Urgence, Engineer Tyseer Mushtaha, Almadinah Counseling Office.
The delegation was received by: Dr. Khalid Alhallaq – Dean of External Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Alastal – Director of Iwan Centre, Mr. Maysara Alqishawi- Director of Public Relations, Engineer Mahmoud Albalaawi and Engineer Nashwa Alramlawi – Iwan Centre, Engineer Amani Almaqadma – Head of External Affairs Department.
Dr. Alhallaq spoke in detail about the evolution of IUG, and its international partnerships and ties with academic institutions and universities at regional, international and local levels.
Eng. Almaqadma gave a presentation on the network of international states and universities with which IUG has partnerships, while reviewing academic and artistic exchange opportunities that IUG has enjoyed in recent years.
Dr. Alastal noted the efforts of Iwan Centre in the preservation of Palestinian cultural heritage, particularly the works of restoration, rehabilitation, training and awareness-raising, and hoped that the visit would be an opening for joint work between the parties.
The guests were pleased to visit the university and recognize the international standing it enjoys. They stressed their desire to open prospects for joint work with IUG and Iwan Centre.
The delegation toured in the University Museum and viewed the University’s march since its establishment including the abundant delegations and legal persons that visited the university and expressed their admiration.
The delegation, together with Iwan’s team, visited some of the restoration projects supervised by the centre in the Old Town of Gaza, and concluded the visit with confirmation by the parties to promote joint work in favor of serving and preserving cultural heritage.
