Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies Deanship has announced the names of the winners of 2021 Islamic University Award for Scientific Research. By this award, IUG aims at encouraging faulty members to seek qualitative and goal-oriented research.
The winners of the award are as follows:
In Engineering and Technology Domain: Professor Hala Jarallah Al-Khozandar and Professor Ammar Mohammed Abu Hudros, faculty members at Electrical Engineering Department.
In Science and Health Domain: Professor Yaser Zidan Alnahhal, faculty member at Environment and Geoscience Department, and Professor Sofyan Abdelrahman Tayeh, faculty member at Physics Department.
Prof. Yousef Aljaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, congratulated the Award-winning researchers and explained that the award is given based on the evaluation of the best published research in international journals indexed in international databases over the past year, which take into account several criteria such as: the impact factor of the journal, the journal’s classification, the researcher’s scientific production published in international databases during the last year, and the researcher’s contributions to the university’s digital repository. He commended the efforts of the Award-winning researchers, addressing that the award is an important incentive for the faculty members in the university.
Prof. Aljaish pointed out that the award-winning researchers will be honored at the annual ceremony to be held by Scientific Research and Postgraduate Deanship in the coming period, hinting that the university perceives the importance of honoring and motivating distinguished members which helps in the university’s advancement in research and academic aspects.
