Faculty of Health Sciences holds a lecture on blended learning for its academic staff

Faculty of Health Sciences in coordination Quality and Development Deanship at IUG organized a scientific lecture on blended learning, which was part of the developmental plan for the Faculty’s teaching staff. The lecture was attended by Dr. Mohammed Abu Auda, Vice-Dean of Quality and Development, Dr. Hamid Alkhodari, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences, heads of the faculty departments, and a number of faculty members.

Dr. Alkhodari underlined the importance of such sort of lectures, which were the result of joint collaboration with the Quality and Development Deanship, that aims at developing scientific and modern methods in teaching process.

Both Dr. Abu Auda and Dr. Amjad Alsabbagh, Faculty Members in Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department at Faculty of Education, addressed the importance of blended learning and its application, which is considered the integration of traditional methods in teaching and the use of technological techniques in presenting subjects such as module platform and other important models adopted by education scholars.

Participants discussed the need and importance of developing scientific methods, as well as the importance of choosing the appropriate model depending on the nature of the course taught to students in order to achieve the highest possible efficiency in the teaching process.

This lecture is part of a series of activities organized by the faculty aiming at developing the capacity of its academic staff. It deals with modern methods of e-learning, distance learning, active learning, and the use of module platform.
