Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies Deanship at Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has announced the Distinguished Researchers in International Publishing for 2021, who applied for the International Publishing Reward at its second round.
Prof. Yousef Aljaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, noted that the Islamic University has always encouraged the university researchers to publish their work in prestigious international databases.
He explained that adapting the regulation of International Publication by Academics and Students resulted in an increase in the university’s production of research published in journals indexed in international databases, the most important of which is “Scopus and Web of Science”, which contributed to the achievement of Goal 200 that aimed to publish 200 studies in journals indexed in global databases over the past period, thus achieving the progress standards for the classification of “The Times Higher Education Arab University”.
He added that the applicants for International Publishing Reward were divided into three categories: The first category was topped by Dr. Bassam Tayeh from Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Sofyan Tayeh from Faculty of Science.
The second category included the following researchers:
- Faculty of Arts: Dr. Mahmoud Altarabin.
- Faculty of Nursing: Prof. Yousef Aljaish, Prof. Naser Abu Alnour.
- Faculty of Science: Prof. Yaser Alnahhal, Prof. Nizam Alashqar, Dr. Sami Shaat.
- Faculty of Medicine: Prof. Majed Yassin.
- Faculty of Engineering: Prof. Ammar Abo Hadrous.

The third category included the following researchers:
- Faculty of Engineering: Prof. Hala Alkhozondar, Prof. Fadi Alnahhal, Prof. Nabil Alsawalhi.
- Faculty of Health Sciences: Prof. Fadel Alsharif, Prof. Adnan Alhindi.
- Faculty of Science: Dr. Saeb Alewaini, Prof. Mohammed Alrefi.
- Faculty of Medicine: Dr. Belal Aldabour, Prof. Khamis Alessi.
- Faculty of Information Technology: Dr. Ashraf Almoghari, Dr. Abdelkarim Alashqar.
- Faculty of Education: Dr. Basil Alkhodari.
IUG grants a symbolic financial reward for every research production published in international publishing incubators, in order to encourage faculty members and graduate students to publish in scientific journals indexed in international databases, thereby improving and enhancing the university’s place in international classifications.
