A delegation from Irada Centre for Rehabilitation and Professional Training of Persons with Disabilities at Islamic University of Gaza visited the presidency of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency “Tika”.The delegation included Prof. Mohammed Alhanjouri, Deputy Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Ayman Abu Sewereh, Director of Irada Center, Eng. Manal Hasna, Irada Project Coordinator, Eng. Raed Qishta, Director of Tika Office in Gaza.
The visit aimed at extending appreciation to the Turkish Government and Tika Foundation for their support in establishing Irada Centre in 2012, informing them about the center’s achievements during the 10 years, exploring the development that the Centre have witnessed, and promoting ways of future cooperation.
Since the establishment of Irada Centre in 2012 until the end of 2021, more than 1500 persons with disabilities have been offered professional training opportunities, and more that 1000 of them have been provided employment opportunities. This is in addition to supporting excellent startups of the graduates to seek sustainable work opportunities, as well as developing training scope and setting workshops that meet the market needs. The center is currently providing training courses in more than 15 different areas, and all are approved by the Ministry of Labor.
