IUG achieved advanced places in the University Student Researcher Award in its second round, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Palestine, after several researches of master’s and bachelor’s students ranked among the top ones.
This award aims at encouraging scientific research among Palestinian university students to further their research activities and initiatives, and to spread the culture of scientific research. That will contribute in raising the quality of research outputs in Palestine, and achieving quality and sustainable development in research areas.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Palestine announced the results of the 2nd University Student Researcher Award, and IUG obtained the following:
In the master’s stage, the student Hazem Alzamili won the first place in the field of Engineering, while Rawan Abdelatif won the second place in the same field. In IT field, the student Khaled Almenirawi won the first place, and Osama Abu-Dahrouj won the second place. In Administrative and Financial Sciences field, the two students Raed Hammad, and Maisa Qundos shared the first place.
In the Bachelor’s stage, the two students Moaz Abu-Askar and Nabil Alhalabi shared the first place in the field of Engineering and Science, while Hadeel Matar and Hala Abu-Sharkh shared the second place in the same field. In Social and Educational Sciences field, the student Roaa Alsalhat won the second place.
Prof. Yousef Aljaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, expressed his happiness that the university students won the top places in this national competition, appreciating the scientific level of the university students, which made them achieve these advanced places among the Palestinian national universities. He thanked the faculty members for their efforts to make these students achieve such remarkable academic levels.
Prof. Aljaish appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in organizing such pioneering competitions, which allow university students to highlight their distinguished scientific efforts, emphasizing on the importance of translating the results of the researches into actionable steps, hoping that the competition continues to be held on a regular basis.
