IUG advances in International Publication Indexes and Meets Requirements of New International Classifications

As part of its strategy, Scientific Research and Graduate Studies Deanship at IUG has promoted the concepts and practices of international publications in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science, and has made sure that scientific research is discontinued without reference to the Islamic University. IUG, thus, has become an axis of international publication at all scientific areas for its students and researchers.

Over the past months, the deanship has initiated a goal of improving the IUG ranking at the international level and entering new classifications for the first time, as announced in the “Goal 200” program.

To meet that end, it had launched the International Publication Reward for Researchers and Students, and had organized several training programs to promote the concepts of international publication through qualitative lectures that better the scientific research system at the university.

In order to unite the international publication on behalf of the Islamic University, the University communicated with the dispatched researchers, who are faculty members of IUG, to publish their researches with reference to Islamic University according to the established name in international databases. The efforts of the deanship over the past period have yielded in over 500 researches published in the Scopus database during the years (2017-2022).

Confirming the goal of 2022 to meet the requirements for the international publication of Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings, the high number of papers published in Scopus contributed to the University’s achievement of the ranking requirements at the beginning of 2022. That was a result of encouragement, awareness-raising and ongoing work to link research published with reference to the Islamic University of Gaza

Prof. Yousef Aljaish, Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at IUG, stressed that the fulfillment of the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings is the fruit of the continuous work by the Deans of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies over the past years who have had a clear imprint in promoting the international publication of IUG, and by the family of Scientific Research Deanship who have worked hard to achieve the intended goal. Prof. Aljaish encouraged academicians and students to publish more papers with reference to the Islamic University in order to enhance its position locally, regionally, and internationally.
